The team moved its home stadium in 1964 from Three Rivers Stadium to the concrete confines of the structure which stands on the side of a hill. You can walk down the hill to the parking lot and it is estimated that about one million visitors walk by and out the front door every year. Heinz Field’s heated upper deck boasts more than 80,000 seats which is 20% of the stadium.
There are ten sections of the stadium, some are 2-level and some are one level with concrete benches. Because of the number of seats in the upper decks, some sections can be quite loud.
